Tim is a hands-on creative leader based in Atlanta with over 15+ years experience managing multidisciplinary creative teams. He's passionate about leading talent, creating safe environments for creatives to succeed, and bringing concept, storytelling and craft to every project.
Over the years, Tim has created brand magic for in-house teams at Apple, Zendesk, MailChimp, Slack, Loom, CNN, and Attentive. He's built a studio practice focused on photography, editorial design, and brand direction, which has led to work with notable clients such as Netflix, Evernote, Target, Intercom, VSCO, Atlanta Magazine, and GAP.
Guided by the simple idea that design is a force for good, Tim collaborates with mission-driven brands or those empowering the underdog to succeed. Whether that's crafting a photo and video library that represents a more diverse array of voices for brand marketing materials or creating a photography program for Atlanta teens that gives back, design can be a powerful tool to make change.
He's known for bringing brands to life with delight and distinction, developing memorable brand experiences that create impact. Tim has functional hands-on experience across many brand design areas with extensive expertise in brand identity, systems and imagery.
He believes firmly in leading with empathy and setting up safe, creative environments for everyone to be set up for success. His strengths lie in building alignment between creative and marketing teams, seeking clarity, and paying attention to details.
Working inside early stage startups to publicy traded companies, he's lead the development of brand systems, product launches, brand refreshes, anchor campaigns, and imagery development.
Tim was an early hire for the brand identity function for Zendesk, hiring a small team that developed the visual direction for a global brand refresh. As the founding designer at Loom, he helped lead the rebrand that set up their unique position in the marketplace and led to an acquisition by Atlassian. He's led maverick social experiments at CNN, spearheading a partnership with VSCO and running a photo program for kids in Atlanta. Inspired by breakfast and print magazines, he's created and directed Morgenmete Journal, the world's foremost publication exploring life around the breakfast table. The magazine has been in countless storefronts across the world, and a few thousand copies sold.
